Surf ‘n Turf Tours is owner managed by Patrick & Christa Mc Evoy, who will be your hosts and guides from the moment you arrive at Durban International Airport. Surf ‘n Turf Tours is based in Umkomaas on the East Coast of South Africa. Umkomaas, the main base for scuba diving on the Aliwal Shoal is only a short drive from Durban International Airport and central to all excursions offered by us. We offer you the true Surf & Turf experience – scuba diving and so much more.
We specialize in small and medium sized groups and this ensures personal service from start to end. We offer you the true Surf & Turf experience – scuba diving and so much more. Our local knowledge, as well as our hands-on approach will ensure that your safari is memorable, safe and fun-filled.
Divers will have experienced licensed skippers and only recognized dive operators with facilities on site – restaurants, bars, sea views, hot & cold showers, shaded areas and sand-free kit-up areas. You want the best – we see to it.
Patrick & Christa have over 6,000 hours of diving experience, with a vast knowledge of the Aliwal Shoal and it’s marine life. Shark diving is a speciality and we guarantee shark sightings on your shark dives. We accompany you on all your dives to ensure your safety and to exceed your expectations.
Patrick & Christa are both registered tour guides within KwaZulu Natal (KZN Tourism). KwaZulu Natal has so much to offer. Add a few leisure days to your Scuba Adventure and we will complete your South African experience with a visit to a Game Reserve where the “Big 5” of African legend stalks the savannah.
Your safari includes a visit to a World Heritage site where you can view Hippo’s and crocodiles in their natural environment and we mix in a bit of culture by introducing you to the very distinctive Zulu culture. Since we aim to exceed your expectations we only use reputable Greater St. Lucia Wetlands cruisers with experienced guides at this World Heritage Site.
If it is adrenalin you’re after, how about a monumental Gorge Swing, River Rafting, Wild Swing or the world’s highest Abseil alongside a waterfall? We will accompany you on your Canopy Tour on a real Tarzan & Jane adventure in a breathtakingly beautiful indigenous forest, and also up the Sani Pass, through the Barrier of Spears into the Kingdom of Lesotho for a beer in the highest pub in Africa.
